MASKS

We have now been advised the new Public Health Orders require students aged 12 and over and drivers to wear a face covering on School Transport services under all Alert Levels.

This is effective immediately and includes all  SESTA services.

Students aged under 12 are not required to wear face coverings on school transport.

Please note:

·         Providing face coverings is the responsibility of individuals and caregivers. Transport providers are not required to have face coverings available for student use.

·         All drivers must wear a face covering on school transport services unless they have an exemption. Information on face covering exemptions can be found on the COVID-19 website.
To request an Exemption Card, please contact the Disabled Persons Assembly NZ on 04 801 9100 or info@dpa.org.nz.

·         Drivers are not responsible for enforcing passengers’ face covering. If a student refuses to wear a face covering, they should not be denied transport. Please report any non-compliance in the usual manner.

COVID -19 VACCINATION ORDER

On 25 October 2021, the COVID-19 Vaccination Order came into effect.
This Vaccination Order makes COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for anyone working onsite at a school who may come into contact with students. It applies to:

  • all school staff (teachers, support and other onsite staff)
  • contractors
  • volunteers

or anyone else engaged to provide onsite services.

If you are a sports coach, volunteer or a parent hoping to go on Yr 8, Yr 7 or Yr 4 Camp, the Vaccination Order applies. We will be seeking confirmation of your vaccination status in the coming week.

If you have any concerns, I encourage you to seek medical advice from trusted sources, e.g., your GP or the Ministry of Health’s website.

Thank you for your help and understanding with this.

CUP RECALL

It's that time of the year again when we ask recipients of all cups and trophies from last year's Sports and End of Year Prize Giving to return them to school please.  They do not need to be cleaned.

MESSAGE FROM THE CANCER SOCIETY

Kia ora friends

We know so many people planned to support us as part of Daffodil Day 2021…but then New Zealand went in to lockdown. That’s why I’m writing to tell you about Marathon in a Month and how you can push your limits for the Hawke’s Bay Cancer Society.

Walk, run, bike, swim, or even scooter... just complete the distance of a marathon spread across November. So tell your friends, whanau and workmates and get active this November, and help cancer patients in your community at the same time. It only takes 1.4km each day. This is a fun, interactive and easy fundraising event to get involved in.

Your speed, your way, your Marathon in a Month.

By joining the Cancer Society team, your support will ensure that the 71 New Zealanders a day who are diagnosed with cancer will not go through it alone.

The Cancer Society provides free support services to those people and their whanau affected by cancer in our local communities. Fundraising is vital for the work that we undertake and, by being part of Marathon in a Month, you can help support the delivery of our services across Hawke’s Bay.

 Register today online at https://marathoninamonth.org.nz/hawkesbay

If you missed Daffodil Day, we’d love to have you join us for Marathon in a Month. Any questions or queries, please just send me an email or give me a call J

We look forward to seeing you out there!
