SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

We need one more first aider for the Senior Cross Country. Please get in touch with the School Office if you can help.

Cross Country Information:

We have put a lot of thought into creating a safe and enjoyable experience for you and your child. Level 2 does mean that we do need to meet all guidelines to have people attend, so we need your help to make this happen. We have devised a plan that gives the opportunity for one adult per family to safely come and support their child. (A maximum  of 100 visiting adults is permitted) By having a junior and senior event on different days we are able to manage numbers and stay within the guidelines.

Important Information for the day if at Level 2.

Please scan the QR at the school gate

  • Do not attend if you are unwell
  • Sign in at the table through the gate – this allows us to ensure a max of 100

**WORKING BEE IS BACK ON**

Sunday 26th September 11am - Remember Daylight Saving starts too - Spring Forward

To do: putting bark on the three playgrounds and renewing the sand in the sandpit.

We have the use of a loader to put the bark where we need it, so we just need people to bring their rakes to place the bark evenly in the playground areas.

We also need spades and wheelbarrows to put sand in the sand pit.

Let's get together and make this a fun morning. Many hands make light work, even if you can only give an hour, it all helps.

Let me know if you can make it, please email Emma Mitchell at welshrarebit16@yahoo.co.uk or message on 0277776009.

LOCKDOWN FUN TIMES

Rissington Bridge works start soon

Work is planned to start soon on Rissington Bridge, Puketitiri Rd, so it can accommodate heavier and taller vehicles. As we consider you as someone with a direct interest in this project, we are contacting you first.

Rissington Bridge is restricted to vehicle weights of 44 tonnes and heights of 4.28 metres. Once strengthened, it will be able to accommodate 62-tonne vehicles with heights up to 4.9 metres.

What this means

Work will take up to six weeks and will require a daytime bridge closure during weekdays only. We are proposing starting work from 4 October, and limiting bridge closure times to:

  • During school holidays (4-15 October): 8.30am-4.30pm
  • After school holidays (18 October - 13 November): 9.15am-2.45pm.

The bridge will be open outside of the above hours on weekdays, and on weekends.

We acknowledge the difficulty this could bring to families and businesses and we are doing our best to minimise the impact. When planning this schedule, we considered the times when high users such as dairy workers, fertilisers, DOC, school-goers etc., travel on it most. We have also held a Zoom forum with key stakeholders representing high bridge users to find a suitable date.

If you have questions or concerns, please email anui@hdc.govt.nz or phone 06 871 5000 and ask for Anu Ileperuma.
