Next Tuesday 10th August we will have our Family/Sibling and Individual Portraits taken.  A flyer will be sent home regarding this, if you would like to order a Sibling photo please request an order form from the Office.  These must be handed back to the School Office by next Tuesday.

Scholastic

Scholastic book orders are due back tomorrow  Thursday 5th August.

David Wooster

David Wooster (School Caretaker) is absent from school at the moment as he is very unwell. We do not know when he will return to work. Thanks to Mike Kemp who has offered to step in and ensure that the school is clean and hygienic.

Mike is doing a great job but cannot commit beyond the cleaning duties. We are therefore looking for some helpful support to maintain the grounds whilst David is sick. If you can offer help in any way please have a chat with Chris or give Ginny in the office a call.

Tea Towel Competition

Congratulations to Lucy, Georgia, Evie and Hunter who have won their age group in our Tea Towel Competition. The brief was to capture the essence of Puketapu School as part of the community. What a great job they have done.

This fantastic art work will be printed on to quality tea towels in time for the Christmas gift shopping period.

Parent League News

Unfortunately Jennie Arnold has offered her resignation as Secretary to the PLA, due to time and family commitments. Thank you very much Jennie for volunteering in the first place, we really appreciated it.

We would like to encourage some people to join the PL committee. We meet once per term as well as help organise our fundraising events. The workload is not onerous and it can be a fun way of making connections throughout the school and community.

From the committee we would like to appoint a secretary and a person to liaise with school to act as project coordinator.

Please contact school or talk to Amy Bowkett on 021 745 919

Tamsyn L and Phoebe M were awarded  Player of the Day for the Puketapu Navy netball team after a 16 - 6 win over St Patrick's School. Well done girls.

Online Safety Messages From Netsafe

LET THEM KNOW THEY CAN TALK TO YOU

It’s important that young people know that they can always come to you if they need help with something that is happening – regardless of what happpened. You might also want to talk to your child about making an online safety plan about what both you and your child would do if something were to go wrong online and they needed help.

DO YOU HAVE AN ONLINE FILTERING SYSTEM?

If your child is young, a filtering system will be effective in keeping them safe from upsetting content but no filtering system can provide complete protection. If you decide to use an online filtering system, remember technological options work best when teamed with online safety education.

Any Brazier sold through Puketapu School will earn a donation of $20 to the school.
