Puketapu School - Respect Unity Responsibility Commitment Thinkers - Tahi Tamariki

Welcome to Puketapu School

Puketapu School is one of the oldest schools in Hawke's Bay, having been established in 1864. We are located in the beautiful Dartmoor Valley 10 minutes from Taradale.

We are a 'full primary' with students between Years 1 and 8, who all combine to create a supportive, family learning environment.  The senior students of the school play a major part in a number of sporting and cultural activities throughout the year, and interact very positively with the younger pupils. It is great to see them taking on the many opportunities to experience leadership and grow into young adults that make a contribution to the community.

Good education does not happen accidentally. Everyone at school has a passion for being the best that they can be. We all work very hard to ensure that our school provides the best education possible for the children.

Our Maori motto means, "We are one family".  The school tries to nurture this feeling of families and school caring for each other.

We have strong values that help to support the learning of our students.  They are expressed through the way in which people at Puketapu School think and act.  Every decision relating to the curriculum and every interaction that takes place reflects the values of the individual involved as well as the collective values of our school.

Puketapu School will instil an enduring desire to learn and attain one's true potential.

We welcome enrolments from all students. We do have an enrolment scheme (zone) in operation; details can be found by clicking here.

Yours
